Orry Questioned in ₹252-Crore Drug Case, Denies Acting as Middleman: Police Sources

The Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell has recorded the statement of Orhan Awatramani, known as Orry, in the Rs 252 crore mephedrone case. Police are looking into whether Orry acted as a middle man between drug suppliers and the Bollywood circuit.

According to police, Orry has denied every allegation made against him during the questioning. A police officer said, “We have recorded his statement and while interrogating he denied all the allegations.” The ANC is expected to call in more people as the investigation moves.

Orry was called in earlier this week and spent nearly seven to eight hours with the Ghatkopar unit. When officers asked him about his links with celebrities, he told them that actors usually invite him and pay him to click photos with them. His name came up after the ANC questioned accused Salim Shaikh, who allegedly helped organise rave parties in India and abroad.

According to police, Shaikh, a member of the cartel, claimed he organised rave parties across India and abroad. These exclusive gatherings, according to investigators, drew in film and fashion personalities, a politician, and even a relative of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

Investigators are now checking Orry’s income sources, bank records and passport details to understand how often he travelled to Dubai and how he built connections across the film industry. “We are verifying his sources of income and his travel history. He hasn’t explained how he knows so many Bollywood celebrities,” an officer said. ANC also called Siddhant Kapoor brother of Shraddha Kapoor in the case for questioning.
