PM Modi to Address Mega Brigade Rally on March 14 in Kolkata Marking the End of BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ Ahead of Polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a major rally at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata on March 14, marking the culmination of the Parivartan Yatra launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. The rally is expected to be one of the party’s largest political gatherings in the state as it intensifies its campaign against the ruling All India Trinamool Congress government.

Mega Rally to Conclude BJP’s Statewide Campaign

According to West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya, all nine Parivartan Yatras launched across the state will conclude in Kolkata by March 10, after which the campaign will culminate in a large public meeting addressed by the prime minister.

Bhattacharya said the BJP’s Parivartan Yatra has covered nearly 5,000 kilometres across the state and was designed to mobilise voters ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. The campaign began simultaneously from nine locations across West Bengal and is expected to include dozens of large rallies and hundreds of smaller public meetings.

Modi had previously addressed a rally at the Brigade Parade Ground on March 7, 2021, ahead of the last Assembly elections.

Multiple BJP Leaders Campaigning in Bengal

The Parivartan Yatra has seen the participation of several senior BJP leaders from across the country. On Thursday, at least five national leaders — including Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, former Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda and Union Minister of State Savitri Thakur — are scheduled to lead yatras from different points across the state.

Earlier, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, also addressed gatherings as part of the campaign and criticised the government led by Mamata Banerjee. Shah said the Parivartan Yatra aims to bring political change in the state and alleged that the BJP intends to make West Bengal “infiltration-free and corruption-free”.

Nine Yatras Across the State

The BJP’s campaign began from multiple locations including Siliguri, Nabadwip, Medinipur and Purulia. Additional yatras were launched from Malda, Hooghly, Bardhaman, North 24 Parganas and Mathurapur.
According to BJP leaders, the campaign will include 63 major rallies and around 282 smaller public meetings before culminating in the Brigade rally in Kolkata.

Frequent Visits by BJP’s Central Leadership

The Parivartan Yatra campaign has also led to a series of visits by the BJP’s central leadership to Kolkata and other parts of West Bengal in recent weeks. Apart from Prime Minister Modi’s upcoming rally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already addressed multiple public meetings as part of the campaign.

In addition, several Union ministers and chief ministers from BJP-ruled states have arrived in Kolkata and participated in different legs of the Parivartan Yatra, highlighting the party’s intensive national-level mobilisation ahead of the upcoming elections.

With the Brigade rally expected to draw thousands of supporters, the BJP hopes the event will mark a major political show of strength as it seeks to expand its presence in West Bengal before the next Assembly polls.
