“Hit these Mohammedans harder, the teacher told the students who kept bashing me for almost an hour”- these were the first words of the 8 year old muslim boy whose video has shaken the conscience of the nation, days after he underwent the ordeal on Thursday.


Not once but multiple times a muslim minor was slapped by his fellow classmates. They took turns in hitting the minor at the instruction of the teacher who was trying to teach the little boy a lesson. As the video of Neha Public School from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh went viral, an outraged India is asking if the teacher was teaching the lesson of hate to the young impressionable minds? "Maine toh declare kar diya, jitne bhi Mohammedan bachhe hain…” the teacher was caught saying on camera while she called the rest of the students to come one after the other and hit the Muslim student. The teacher has been identified as Tripta Tyagi, principal and owner of Neha Public School.

Tripta was also seen asking the students to hit the boy harder, at one point she even asked one student to hit the boy on his waist. “I don’t know why the teacher did so, I don’t know the names of the students who were hitting me. I made some mistakes”, added the minor who is still shaken and yet to come to terms with what happened to him.

Muzaffarnagar Police registered a case but Tripti hasn’t been arrested as yet. Sections reportedly slapped in the case are 505 and 506 of IPC, both are bailable sections.

The Principal on her part has issued a short apology while alleging that people have jumped into “a small matter” to make it big for political reasons. “The boy did some tables wrong and thus he was punished. It was a mistake on my part in making other students hit him. It is nothing Hind-Muslim”, said Tripta Tyagi.

The video has stoked a massive political debate with opposition slamming the video as another proof of how “BJP has injected hatred in the society”.

“Poisoning innocent minds, turning a holy place like school into a market of hatred – nothing worse a teacher can do for the country. This is the same kerosene spread by the BJP which has set every corner of India on fire. Children are the future of India - do not teach them hatred, we all have to teach them to love” wrote Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on social media.

“This is what BJP has done to the country. Their politics of hatred has now reached schools where little children study. This divisive politics is now dividing school children. India was always together and India will always state together, this hatred is unacceptable”, said Trinamool Congress MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. Trinamool, like Congress has launched massive social media campaign against the BJP over the incident.

The father of the minor, meanwhile has expressed regret over such an incident while admitting that he had settled the matter with the school. “The school had agreed return the admission fees. I had taken my son away from the school. I was told the money would be returned only if I agree not to lodge any police complaint. I had accepted the arrangement” said the father.

However, after the video went viral, the father has lodged a police complaint calling the incident as not an isolated one, alleging similar treatment was meted out to others from the muslim community by the teacher.

Police claim they learnt about the incident after the video went viral. Satyanarayan Prajapat, Additional SP, said that while investigating the matter, “It has been learnt that the woman teacher said that mothers of Muslim students who don't pay attention to their children's studies, end up ruining them." The senior police officer claimed the fact was corroborated with the person recording the video. The video was apparently shot by the uncle of the minor.
