Mumbai's Crime Branch, Unit 8, has arrested a 20-year-old man, Gurfaan Khan, from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly issuing death threats and demanding money from Bandra East MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui, the son of politician Baba Siddiqui, as well as Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Following his arrest, Khan was transported to Mumbai and presented in court, where he was remanded to police custody until November 4.

The incident unfolded on October 25 at around 9:30 p.m., when Khan reportedly contacted Siddiqui's office helpline, making one phone call and sending two WhatsApp messages. During the call, which was answered by an office employee, Khan claimed to have overheard a conspiracy to kill both Siddiqui and Khan, alleging that their lives were in danger. This prompted the office staff to file a complaint at the Nirmal Nagar Police Station.

In collaboration with Noida Police, the Mumbai Crime Branch traced the threatening mobile number, leading to Khan's arrest. A Crime Branch officer indicated that the intention behind Khan's actions appeared to be extortion, although he has not yet disclosed any information about who might have been planning harm to Siddiqui and Khan. Investigations thus far suggest that Khan's claims were unfounded. The Nirmal Nagar Police Station is now investigating how Khan obtained the contact details for Siddiqui's office.
