The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) carried out a major operation in Mumbra following developments in the Delhi bomb blast investigation and a recent arrest in Pune. Acting on intelligence inputs, ATS teams raided four locations in the Mumbra area, including the residence of a local teacher. Two individuals have been detained for questioning, and several electronic devices have been seized for forensic analysis.
According to sources, the raid is linked to the recent arrest of an engineer in Pune who is allegedly connected to the Al-Qaeda network. During interrogation, the name of the Mumbra-based teacher surfaced, prompting ATS to take swift action. The teacher, suspected of having links with the banned outfit Jamaat-e-Islami, was detained on
Tuesday.
The operation comes in the wake of Monday’s powerful explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi, which has put security agencies across the country on high alert.
In response, Maharashtra ATS has intensified its surveillance and search operations in sensitive areas, with Mumbra being one of the key focus zones.
