Leopard Enters Residential Building in Mira-Bhayandar, Three Injured

Panic gripped the Mira-Bhayandar area near Mumbai on Friday, morning after a leopard entered a residential building and attacked residents, leaving three people injured. The incident occurred in the Talao Road area, where emergency services rushed to the spot and a rescue operation is currently underway.

According to officials, the leopard was first spotted around 8 am inside Parijat Building, located near Sai Baba Hospital on BP Road. The wild animal reportedly entered one of the flats where four people were present at the time, including a 25-year-old woman. The leopard attacked the occupants, triggering panic and loud screams that alerted neighbours.

Local residents immediately informed the police and fire brigade, following which teams reached the site and began efforts to control the situation. Three members of the same family sustained injuries in the attack and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The 25-year-old woman is said to be seriously injured and is currently undergoing treatment at Sai Baba Hospital.

Fire brigade personnel and police officials managed to confine the leopard inside a room of the building to prevent further harm. Forest department officials have been informed and are on their way to the spot to assist in safely capturing the animal.

Meanwhile, a large crowd of onlookers gathered near the building, prompting authorities to appeal to residents to remain alert and avoid the area. Security has been tightened in the vicinity as the operation to tranquilise and rescue the leopard continues.​
