Suchana Seth, the CEO of an AI start-up in Bengaluru was arrested by Karnataka Police in Chitradurga while attempting to escape in a taxi. The arrest followed her alleged act of murdering her four-year-old son at a Goa hotel, where she had checked in with him on January 6 in Sinquerim, North Goa. The child's body was reportedly found stuffed in a bag.

The incident was brought to attention of fhe police when a hotel staff member, cleaning the room after checkout, saw bloodstains on the sheets.

According to the police, the 39-year-old used a sharp weapon to fatally harm her son. Following the incident, she requested the hotel management to arrange a taxi for her, wanting to travel by road, back to Bengaluru. Police scrutiny of CCTV footage indicated that she checked out of the hotel unaccompanied. "She initially told the police she had left her son with a relative in South Goa, but the story didn’t check out. We called the cab driver and asked him to report to the nearest police station. She was nabbed with the help of Karnataka Police in Chitradurga district while on the way to Bengaluru,” said the officer at the Calangute Police station.

The Calangute Police sent a team that left for Karnataka to secure the custody of the woman for interrogation. The police are yet to establish a motive for the crime.
