PM Modi Congratulates 'Millenial' Nitin Nabin As He is Set to Swear-in as New BJP National President Replacing Nadda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Nabin after he was elected as the party’s new National President, formally succeeding J.P. Nadda. The election, held at the party headquarters in New Delhi, marked a significant transition in the BJP’s organisational leadership.

Emphasing on the significance of next 25 years PM Modi said, “This is the period when a developed India is to be built, and it is destined to happen. At the beginning of this crucial period, our Nitin Nabin ji will carry forward the legacy of the BJP. To put it in the language of today's youth, Nitin ji himself is, in a way, a millennial.”

PM Modi further expressed his trust in Nabin to bring in experience and fresh perspective in the party’s future. “He belongs to the generation that has witnessed major economic, social, and technological transformations in India. He belongs to the generation that received information from the radio in their childhood and is now an active user of AI. Nitin ji possesses both youthful energy and extensive experience in organisational work. This will be very beneficial for every worker of our party..." PM Narendra Modi said.

Nabin was elected unopposed, reflecting broad consensus within the party. With this appointment, he becomes one of the youngest leaders to assume the BJP’s top organisational post. Party leaders described his elevation as a step towards strengthening internal coordination and energising the cadre ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.

Outgoing president J.P. Nadda, who served in the role since 2020, was acknowledged for overseeing the party through multiple state elections and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Senior leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, congratulated Nabin and expressed confidence in his leadership.

Nabin’s nomination was the only one filed, with 37 sets of nomination papers proposing his name, resulting in his election without opposition in accordance with party rules.

The senior leader has been associated with the BJP for several decades and is known for his organisational experience and grassroots engagement. His tenure is expected to focus on consolidating the party’s structure, enhancing outreach, and preparing the organisation for future elections.​
