Delhi Election 2025: BJP Crosses Majority Mark, AAP Trails

Vote counting for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 began at 8 AM on Saturday, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) taking an early lead, surpassing the majority mark. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) follows closely, while the Congress lags behind, as per early trends.


Key Candidate Updates:


Arvind Kejriwal (AAP, New Delhi) is leading against Parvesh Singh (BJP) and Sandeep Dikshit (Congress).


Manish Sisodia (AAP, Jangpura) is ahead, while Tarvinder Singh Marwah (BJP) and Farhad Suri (Congress) trail.


Delhi CM Atishi (AAP, Kalkaji) is trailing against Ramesh Bidhuri (BJP). Congress’ Alka Lamba is also behind.


Kapil Mishra (BJP, Karawal Nagar) is leading, while Parvesh Verma (BJP, New Delhi) is trailing.


Ravinder Singh Negi (BJP, Patparganj) is ahead of Avadh Ojha (AAP).


Shikha Roy (BJP) is leading, with Suraj Bharadwaj (AAP) trailing.


Pawan Sharma (BJP) is ahead of Posh Balyan (AAP).


Vijender Gupta (BJP) is leading against Pradeep Mittal (AAP).


Kailash Gahlot (BJP) is ahead of Surender Bhardwaj (AAP).


Gopal Rai (AAP, Babarpur) is leading against Anil Kumar Vashisht (BJP).


As of 11 AM, the BJP is leading with 40 seats, while AAP has 30 seats.


The Election Commission of India is overseeing the counting of votes for all 70 assembly constituencies. This election is seen as a key battle between the ruling AAP and the BJP, which has been in opposition in Delhi since 1998.
