“After Atom Bomb, Wait For Hydrogen Bomb…” Rahul Gandhi Warns Of Another Vote Theft Expose Soon

Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday escalated his allegations over alleged ‘vote theft’ during the culmination of Voter Adhyikar Yatra in Patna, cautioned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to brace for explosive revelations that he likened to a "hydrogen bomb,”. He claimed the ‘exposé’ would shatter the BJP's reputation and leave Prime Minister Narendra Modi unable to face the public. His remarks came amid growing concerns over electoral integrity, particularly in the lead-up to Bihar's assembly elections. "When people shout 'vote chor' (vote thief), BJP workers wave black flags at us," Gandhi stated during the event. He referenced an earlier exposure in Karnataka's Mahadevapura constituency, which he described as an "atom bomb" of evidence on vote tampering. "If that was an atom bomb, then prepare for the hydrogen bomb that's on its way. It will destroy the credibility of the BJP and Narendra Modi. Once we unveil this on vote theft, I guarantee Modi won't be able to show his face to the nation."

The Voter Adhikar Yatra, a 16-day campaign spearheaded by Gandhi, was launched from Sasaram in Bihar on August 17, 2025, to champion voters' rights and combat what the opposition calls systemic "vote chori" (vote theft). Covering over 1,300 kilometers, the yatra aimed to mobilise public awareness against alleged electoral fraud, including manipulations in voter lists and polling processes. The Mahadevapura reference stems from Gandhi's August 2025 claims, where he alleged that over 100,000 votes were stolen in the Karnataka assembly segment through methods like fake voter additions and deletions. He dubbed this revelation an "atom bomb" and demanded transparency from the Election Commission of India (ECI), including access to electronic voter lists and polling videography. Sources within Congress indicate their next exposé could be on 2024 Haryana assembly elections. While most of the exit polls had predicted a rout for incumbent BJP, but Nayab Singh Saini came back to power with a less than 1% margin in vote share. Congress, that was positioned for a landslide victory by most of the exit polls, had won equal number of seats as BJP in the Lok Sabha polls that happened in May 2024.

Adding to the opposition's offensive, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has repeatedly questioned the longevity of the Modi-led government. At the same event, Kharge alleged that Modi secured power in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections through vote theft and predicted that the administration would not survive beyond six months, citing instability and public discontent. "After vote chori, now they're attempting satta chori (power theft)," Kharge remarked in a separate critique, targeting new legislative moves by the BJP.

As Bihar gears up for polls, Gandhi's yatra and warnings have intensified the political discourse, with the opposition framing it as a battle for constitutional safeguards. The BJP has yet to respond directly to the "hydrogen bomb" threat, but party sources indicate they view it as desperate rhetoric
