The demand for justice in the alleged plane crash involving Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar entered its 37th day on Monday, with his nephew and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Rohit Pawar continuing to raise the issue at the national level.
Rohit Pawar again visited Delhi and met Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, urging him to raise the matter in Parliament.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Pawar alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had attended Rohit Singh’s wedding, where Union Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu was also present.
Pawar said, “A bank had provided ₹40 crore in funds to VSR Company, while ₹50 crore was given to an NBFC linked to Chandrababu Naidu around the same time. How can this be a coincidence? Such connections could affect the investigation.”
Pawar also alleged that NCP leader and close aide of Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel and his associate S.N. Sharma were present at Rohit Singh’s wedding, and He questioned Praful Patel’s silence on the issue involving VSR and VK Singh, saying he should come forward and clarify matters.
He claims that the VSR and its owner, VK Singh, were being protected and claimed that action against them could bring several powerful names into the public domain.
On the plane crash, Pawar said, “Visibility was around 3,000 metres and
Captain Kapoor had informed VK Singh over the phone that the visibility was poor and the aircraft should not take off at that time. However, VK Singh instructed the pilot to proceed with the take-off. Whether the pilot was under pressure can be verified through VK Singh’s Call Detail Records (CDR).”
He alleged that the company had failed to follow compliance norms and argued that authorities should have shut down the company instead of ordering the grounding of five aircraft.
Mr Pawar met the Samajwadi Party Chief, Akhilesh Yadav and presented the information collected over the past few days and requested him to raise the issue in the Lok Sabha. According to Pawar, Yadav assured him of cooperation on the matter.
However, on the other hand, Amol Mitkari said he visited the family of Pinky Mali at a hospital, where her mother has been undergoing treatment for the past 13 days.
After meeting in a post on X, Mitkari revealed that VSR owner VK Singh had made a WhatsApp call warning the victim’s brother to stay away from the media. He also claimed that he heard a recorded conversation in which a pilot allegedly said, “Ajit Pawar inke flight ko thok diya.”
Mitkari alleged the remark raises doubts about possible links between VSR and the underworld, adding that the case may be more complex than it appears.
