Where Is the Former Vice President? Raut Demands SIT, Warns of Youth Unrest Amid Nepal Crisis

During a press conference on Wednesday, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut raised pointed questions about the whereabouts of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. He announced that the matter will be taken up in the upcoming parliamentary session to examine the possibility of setting up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the Vice President to locate him.

Speaking at the event, Raut posed the question, “Where is the former Vice President of India?”, highlighting concerns about accountability and transparency.

In addition to this, Raut commented on the political turmoil in Nepal, writing on social media platform X that, “Nepal’s political crisis forced PM KP Oli to resign as citizens took to the streets against corruption and
authoritarianism. This unrest, unfolding along India’s border, demands serious study by Indian policymakers.” He further expressed concern that the situation in Nepal should be closely analyzed, as widespread protests by youth against corruption mirror challenges that India may face.
He added, “The youth on the streets in Nepal are protesting against corrupt leadership and governance. The current situation in India is also fragile; citizens are discontent and must remain watchful.”

Raut also pointed to failures in India’s foreign policy, stating that Nepal once treated India as a “big brother,” but India failed to support Nepal during its crisis, calling it a lapse in diplomatic strategy.

However, reflecting on India’s internal socio-economic situation, saying, “Today’s youth in India is calm only because they lack opportunities and jobs. If the spark from Nepal spreads to India, it will still remain a democratic country. If the Modi government has survived, it is because this country endure principles of Mahatma Gandhi. That is why only this government has lasted so far.”
