IndiGo Cancels all Domestic Flights From Delhi for Entire Day on Dec 5

IndiGo on Friday announced the cancellation of all domestic flights departing from Delhi Airport (DEL) for the entire day, confirming that services will remain suspended until 11:59 PM. The airline issued an official statement expressing “profound apologies” to passengers and stakeholders affected by the disruption.

According to IndiGo, the decision was triggered by unforeseen operational circumstances, though no further details were immediately shared. The suspension affects hundreds of travelers at one of India’s busiest aviation hubs.
In its statement, IndiGo said, “We confirm that all IndiGo domestic flights departing from Delhi Airport on December 5 stand cancelled till 11:59 PM. We express our profound apologies to all our valued customers and stakeholders who have been significantly impacted by these unforeseen events.”

Passengers were advised not to travel to the airport. The airline has urged passengers scheduled to fly today to avoid heading to the airport unless they have received revised communication.

Airline officials said they are working to restore normal operations at the earliest, stressing that safety and operational stability remain the top priorities.

The unexpected, full-day grounding marks one of the most significant service disruptions for IndiGo in recent months. Delhi Airport, a critical domestic and international hub, typically sees a high volume of daily departures, making today’s cancellations especially disruptive.

The large-scale cancellations come in the wake of unforeseen operational circumstances, prompting the airline to halt all domestic departures from one of the country’s busiest airports. While the specific cause has not been publicly detailed, IndiGo emphasized that passenger safety and operational integrity remain its highest priorities.

The airline reaffirmed its commitment to restoring normal operations as quickly as possible and thanked travelers for their patience and understanding during the disruption.

Authorities are monitoring the situation as passengers await further updates from the airline.
